Behavioral biases in trade credit policy: does it matter for financial performance?

چکیده

Purpose Corporate firms often follow their peer to articulate multiple financial decisions. Among the others, trade credit policy is a vital decision that can impart its dynamic role in achieving efficiency. Therefore, current analysis aims assess of herding behavior determining policies corporate and relevant effect on performance. Design/methodology/approach For this purpose, data 13089 nonfinancial sector from 50 countries are employed generalized method moments (GMM) model estimate regression applied. Findings The empirical findings first reveal actively mimic regarding policies. However, mimicking hampers performance due noncompatibility with peers’ Peer develop such not applicable firms.
